Montgomery County Leadership Academy Launches “Stop and Serve” Event.

Stop. Serve. Make a Difference.

The Montgomery County Leadership Academy (MCLA) is inviting community members to give
back in a simple, meaningful way through its first Stop and Serve event on Tuesday, January
21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place at two convenient locations: Everwise
Credit Union and Fusion 54 (first floor) in Crawfordsville.
Stop and Serve events are designed to build on the momentum of Montgomery County’s Annual
Day of Service held each September, while encouraging year-round volunteerism. The concept is
simple, community members can stop in while running errands or on their lunch break and
complete a small service project that directly benefits local non-profit organizations. No long-
term commitment is required, and no prior experience is needed.
“Not everyone has the time to serve on a board or commit to ongoing volunteer roles,”
organizers shared. “But everyone has time to make a small impact. Stop and Serve creates an
easy entry point for giving back, showing that even a few minutes can make a difference for our
community.”
This community-wide effort is made possible through partnerships with the City of
Crawfordsville, Crawfordsville Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, Wabash College,
Montgomery County Community Foundation, and United Way. Together, these organizations
are working to strengthen connections between residents and the non-profits that serve
Montgomery County.
Community members of all ages are encouraged to participate. Whether you stop by for five
minutes or stay longer, your time and effort will help support local organizations and reinforce a
culture of service across Montgomery County.
