The Montgomery County Youth Service Bureau (YSB) has announced the date for this year’s National Night Out. This year’s event will be on Tuesday, July 28, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Held annually at Milligan Park, it’ll feature free hotdog meals, free popcorn, exotic animals from Silly Safari, fire trucks, police vehicles, a DJ, free bounce house and bounce house obstacle course, caricaturists, a foam party, door prizes, games and activities, giveaways, and much more. The completely free event is open to the public. Organizers ask that every child must be accompanied by an adult.
According to a release from the YSB, the event is “designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, strengthen community spirit and police-community partnerships, and bring people together to enjoy a night out engaging in enjoyable and healthy activities.”
The YSB thanked many agencies for supporting this year’s National Night Out, including Firefly Children & Family Alliance, the Crawfordsville Fire Department and Police Department, the Montgomery County Sheriff Department, Valero Renewable Fuels, Drug Free Montgomery County Coalition, the Crawfordsville Parks and Recreation Department, and the Montgomery County Youth Service Bureau.
For any businesses, agencies, or organizations looking to participate in the event, they are encouraged to contact Jane Christphersen at jane@mcysb.org.
