Purdue Extension to host Master Gardener Training series

The Purdue Extension Office in Montgomery County has opened up registration for its 14-week Master Gardener training series this fall. Its core curriculum will cover plant science, invasive species, woody ornamentals, pest identification, and control methods for weeds, insects and diseases. The Indiana Fraternal Order of Eagles has announced its recent partnership with the Mary T. Klinker Veteran Resource Center. Based in Lafayette, the organization's mission is to support veterans suffering from homelessness and/or trauma. Its namesake, Mary Klinker, was a Lafayette native who served as a flight nurse during the Vietnam War. Linden Depot Museum announces completion of caboose restoration

The Linden Depot Museum announced in a press release its completion of exterior restoration of the historic Nickel Plate caboose. Featured prominently at the museum's front entrance, the caboose serves as a unique artifact of a railway that has long since retired. The Nickel Plate Road stretched from Missouri to New York, where it operated from 1881 until 1964. Parts of the railroad remain on the property.
