No injuries were reported following a structure fire on the 500 block of East Jefferson Street late Sunday night. According to a statement from the City of Crawfordsville, responders from the Crawfordsville Fire Department arrived at around 11:30 p.m. to a detached garage fire that threatened nearby buildings and a vehicle. The fire was contained to the unoccupied garage, and was later brought under control within 10 minutes of arrival. Some nearby property sustained minor to moderate heat damage. The cause remains under investigation, but it is believed to be unintentional in nature.
Assisting agencies included the Crawfordsville Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Central Communications Center, and Crawfordsville Electric Light & Power.
