The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred Monday morning. It happened near the 27 mile-marker on Interstate 74 near Waynetown.
According to the release, deputies arrived at a single-vehicle crash around 9:15 and discovered that the driver’s 2002 Suzuki XL-7 crossed through the median into both lanes of westbound traffic, and rolled into a ditch.
The vehicle’s sole occupant, 18-year-old Kinsley L. Gruss of Greenfield, IN, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation, but it is believed that inclement weather had played a factor. The Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with information to contact Detective Jared Kirby or Captain Jake Watson at 765-362-3740.
Assisting agencies include Indiana State Police; Crawfordsville Fire Department; Waynetown Fire Department; Montgomery County Coroner; and Froedge’s Towing.
