The Purdue Extension Office in Montgomery County has opened up registration for its 14-week Master Gardener training series this fall. Its core curriculum will cover plant science, invasive species, woody ornamentals, pest identification, and control methods for weeds, insects and diseases. The Indiana Fraternal Order of Eagles has announced its recent partnership with the Mary T. Klinker Veteran Resource Center. Based in Lafayette, the organization's mission is to support veterans suffering from homelessness and/or trauma. Linden Depot Museum announces completion of caboose restoration

The Linden Depot Museum announced in a press release its completion of exterior restoration of the historic Nickel Plate caboose. Featured prominently at the museum's front entrance, the caboose serves as a unique artifact of a railway that has long since retired. Ellen Simpson, who had served as the director for the FISH Food Pantry in Montgomery County since 2020, has announced her decision to step down from the role earlier this week. She will transition into an inaugural role as a Rural Housing Retention Coordinator for Lafayette Transitional Housing Center (LTHC).
