Southmont, Wabash graduate celebrates 10 years in providing support to students overseas

ScholarShop Africa, a non-profit tailored towards providing financial and material support to prospective students in the continent, is getting ready to celebrate 10 years since its founding. INDOT to implement all-way stop on intersection of U.S. 231 and S.R. 234

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announced in a press release the implementation of an all-way stop at the intersection of U.S. 231 and State Road 234 just down the road from Southmont High School. Signage will be installed starting on or after Monday, April 13. INDOT stated that the reason behind this change is to accommodate for the "increased traffic from the nearby culvert replacement project taking place on S.R. 47." SPECIAL: Incoming Southmont principal promises continued expansion for programs

Incoming Southmont High School principal Raymond Jones had a chance to talk with WCDQ Friday to discuss Southmont's direction next school year. Jones is currently Southmont's assistant principal, who's been in the role since 2023. His experience in education includes a tenure as a special education teacher for Fountain Central, and later a physical education teacher for Clinton Prairie.
