Crawfordsville High School evacuated following bomb threat; no dangerous items found

No dangerous items were located following an alleged bomb threat at Crawfordsville High School Thursday morning.

According to a statement released by the City of Crawfordsville, officers from the Crawfordsville Police Department were dispatched to the high school following a report of a student allegedly in possession of an explosive device at around 11:10 a.m. Officers immediately made contact with school administration to coordinate evacuation procedures. The student identified in the complaint was quickly located and removed from the area.

Per school procedure, students and faculty were transported to Crawfordsville Middle School for reunification while officers conducted a thorough investigation. Searches of the school were completed by responding officers, along with K-9 sweeps conducted by the Tippecanoe County Bomb Squad, where no dangerous items were found. There is currently no ongoing safety concerns at this time.
