The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announced nightly lane closures that is expected to impact Interstate 74 starting this Thursday, May 21. According to their press release, contractors will close one lane at a time in both directions on I-74 between the Illinois state line and Exit 58 near Lizton. This is to refurbish pavement markings along the interstate.
Construction will be limited to 3 miles and one travel lane in each direction. No work is currently scheduled over Memorial Day weekend. Work hours for this project will be between 7 p.m. and 9 a.m.
Construction is expected to be complete within 2 weeks of the original start date, weather-permitting. View a map detailing the work below.
