In 1701, Captain William Kidd is executed by hanging for piracy and murder in Essex, UK. It is said that he has left behind buried treasure during his travels, which continues to be hunted to this day.

In 1949, the Federal Republic of Germany (or West Germany) is formed as Cold War hostilities between the Soviet Union and western Europe intensify. At this time, Germany was a nation divided into four different sectors governed by Allied countries. It wouldn’t be until 1990 when the country reunifies as the collapse of the Soviet Union begins.
