SPECIAL: Incoming Southmont principal promises continued expansion for programs

Incoming Southmont High School principal Raymond Jones had a chance to talk with WCDQ Friday to discuss Southmont’s direction next school year. Jones is currently Southmont’s assistant principal, who’s been in the role since 2023. His experience in education includes a tenure as a special education teacher for Fountain Central, and later a physical education teacher for Clinton Prairie. He’s coached in various capacities for both schools, most prominently football for the Gophers. He’ll be Southmont’s new principal starting the 2026-27 school year.
