Durham Foundation partners with community foundation for new initiative

The Durham Foundation, formerly Durham Home Inc., has partnered with the Montgomery County Community Foundation to create a new initiative. According to its press release, the initiative is called "The Durham Foundation Community Child Care Assistance Pass Through Fund". Its purpose is to assist local working parents with the costs of licensed nonprofit childcare in Montgomery County. Cat saved following house fire on Market Street

No injuries were reported and one cat was resuscitated following a house fire Tuesday evening. According to a release by the Crawfordsville Fire Department, firefighters arrived around 6:45 p.m. to a residence on the 1100 block of Market Street. Upon arrival, crews observed light smoke coming from the exterior of the home. No injuries reported following fire at Lakeside Book Company

No injuries nor structural damage were reported following a fire at Lakeside Book Company Wednesday evening. According to a release sent by the Crawfordsville Fire Department, firefighters arrived to a fire in the factory's baler room at around 7:30 p.m. The majority of the flames were successfully extinguished with the help of Lakeside employees prior to the fire department's arrival, however a separate fire was also on its rooftop collection system.
