Kayakers safe following water rescue operation

A group of kayakers were safe after a water rescue operation on Sugar Creek Wednesday afternoon. According to a release issued by the City of Crawfordsville, the Crawfordsville Fire Department received a report from a resident living near the creek at around 3:30 p.m. detailing two individuals in the water after their kayaks capsized. Waveland Strong invites the public to this year's Veterans Cruise-In on Friday, June 26th. According to a press release sent by the organization, it'll be at the town park on Howard Street starting at 5:30 p.m. This will serve as a fundraiser for its planned Veteran's Memorial project. Schenck Road in Crawfordsville to close until October

The Indiana Department of Transportation announced the closure of Schenck Road in Crawfordsville starting Monday. Beginning on or after June 1, local contractors will close Schenck Road between the stop sign at Big Four Arch Road and Wabash Avenue. According to the release, the purpose of this closure is to tie in the existing Schenck Road to the new section of roadway. This project is expected to last until October, weather permitting.
