Jefferson Street fire destroys garage; no injuries reported

No injuries were reported following a structure fire on the 500 block of East Jefferson Street late Sunday night. According to a statement from the City of Crawfordsville, responders from the Crawfordsville Fire Department arrived at around 11:30 p.m. to a detached garage fire that threatened nearby buildings and a vehicle. A detached garage on the 600 block of East Wabash Ave. was deemed a total loss following a large fire Tuesday evening. Reports of the fire were called in around 7:30 p.m. when the Crawfordsville Fire Department arrived to thick black smoke and flames fully engulfing the garage. City of Crawfordsville expands community cat program with AWL

The City of Crawfordsville announced in a press release an expansion for its Shelter-Neuter-Release (SNR) program, which is a collaborative effort with the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County. According to its statement, the City has committed $25,000 for the program in 2026. The City of Crawfordsville welcomed the public to the first in a series of informational open houses Tuesday evening discussing preliminary concepts to replace the railroad crossing on Market Street. Early morning fire destroys Swick’s Creekside BBQ; owners said to rebuild

An early morning structure fire on Tuesday resulted in a total loss for Swick's Creekside BBQ, formerly the Creekside Lodge. According to a statement from Scott Busenbark, who is the fire chief for the Crawfordsville Fire Department, firefighters responded to the blaze at around 12:45 a.m., encountering heavy flames bursting through the restaurant's roof. Lane and shoulder closures to impact I-74 near Waynetown
